 दाटून आली कातरवेळी सांज दिवाणी/
तव अधरांना चुंबून गेली सांज दिवाणी/

नवरात्रीही झाल्या आता असह्य मजला/
दर्शनरांगां खट्याळ हसते सांज दिवाणी/

संध्यावंदन करण्या नदीतटी संन्यासीगण /
भूलवून जाते त्यांना सुध्दा सांज दिवाणी/

संध्याकाळी सजणा-या त्या रातराणीला/
हिंदोळ्यावर खेळवते ना सांज दिवाणी/

मग एकाकी होतो आपण म्लाण मुखाने/
आठवत जाते तिच्या मिठीतील सांज दिवाणी/

नटून थटून मग कुणी एकटे निघते तिकडे/
वाट पाहते त्याच्याही आधी सांज दिवाणी/

छान , मोकळ्या अवखळणा-या केसांमधल्या/
गज-याशी त्या झोंबत असते सांज दिवाणी/

चुडीदार मग बहरून येतो तिने घातला/
तिच्यासवे मग बहरत जाते सांज दिवाणी/

दूरूनच दिसते येताना ती मंदगतीने/
त्यालाही मग अवचित डचते सांज दिवाणी//

प्रथम दिलेल्या पत्राचा मग दरवळ येतो/
तिच्या तोंडूनी अवखळ हसते सांज दिवाणी //

थरथरनारा हात पुन्हा मग ऊरी विसावे/
मंतरते त्या स्पंदानांही सांज दिवाणी/

सात्विक स्नेहा दिली कितीही दूषणे त्यांनी/
त्यांना सुध्दा पूरून उरते सांज दिवाणी/
This idea of writing Gazal came to me when i was struggling to get in to the long line of Chatushringi devotees. i immidiately came out of that fuss and reached my hostel.i suddenly went to the memory line of Ambajogai where i was habituated to the Yogeshwaari Devi,which is the abode of Bhagvatee.
this simple plot striked me to write gazal which is being a lietmotief .
How a wonderful evening (Saanj) make everyone restless and how we feel the sense of incompleteness ,when we do not find companion to share the musty thrill of evening. it is not only the celebration of fullness of companionship but the inherent instinct of man to share the agony and ecstasy of mind.
The marathi song "सांज ये गोकुळी "sung by Lata Mangeshkar is the stimulus to write this gazal. hope it will be the gift for Diwali and Daaara for all my blog readers.

मी गजला का लिहितो----.माझी नवी गजल..

असह्य जगणे सुसह्य करण्या लिहितो गझला /
मीठीत तुझिया विरघळण्याला लिहितो गझला /


छक्के पंजे बावरलेले ,गोंधळ्लेही/
जिंकून घेण्या डाव रडीचा लिहितो गझला /


स्नेहसरोवर दाटून आला नयनी तुझिया /
बिंदू होऊन त्यात मिसळण्या लिहितो गझला /


फार पाहिली वाट तुझी मी त्या दिवशीला/
त्या घाटाची वाट शोधण्या लिहितो गझला /


पाठमोरी तू किती देखणी वळली होतीस/
गज-याचा त्या गंध ऊजळण्या लिहितो गझला /


वीणा घेऊन रियाझ करण्या बसलेले ते/
मोहक रुपडे आळवण्याला लिहितो गझला /


कृतार्थ होईल असे वाटले जगणे माझे/
तुझाच राणी ठाव शोधण्या लिहितो गझला /


One of my friends, Shrikant Susar, keeps on asking me the same question of my motive of writing Gazaals.
This gazal is the poetic rejoinder to this question....which i have written in late night i.e.2.30 am.
The last couplet i.e.Makhta.is the concluding remark of my intention of my journey to Gazal.

ज्ञानेश्वरीला ७२० वर्षे पूर्ण झाली

सर्वांना सांगण्यास आनंद होतो की,
आज संत ज्ञानेश्वर महाराजांच्या ग्रंथराज ज्ञानेश्वरीला ७२० वर्षे पूर्ण झाली.

आर्ताचेनि ओरसे/गीतार्थग्रथनमिसे /

PurushottamTrophy...'मास्तर तुमचच नाव लिवा'

Last week i happened to watch the fianal shortlisted 9 one act playsfor Purushottam Karandak in Bharat Natymandirl,Pune.My friend Vitthal kale ,who is maverick in this field was with me..The number of computer and internet related one act plays were big in number,as there names run thus.,,,,Page not found,Sign out,Farmwell, and so on..
The one act play 'page not found',which got first prize is the biting coment on present technically virtual generation.one of the character in this play says to his father  to come online so that they can extend their mutual discussion.the virtual reallity created by cyberpunky  world is so obsessive that he is totally unaware of his family and the pining sweetheart..by ignoring the real parential suggestions he get engrossed in the virtually created family,which he thinks,care for him.
The one Act play 'Naav(नाव)' which was based on the poem 'मास्तर तुमचच नाव लिवा' by noted poet Narayan Surve.I loved it most.the idea that one poem can  insire to write this wellwrought play...

Now a days im having the actual theatrical experience.at least of watching very minutely the  intricacies.

गोडगुलाबी थंडीमधली आठवण झाली/

स्पर्शुन गेल्या मंद हवेची आठवण झाली/

केस मोकळे ओले सोडून बसली होतीस /
थंडथंड त्या जलस्पर्शची आठवण झाली/

आज न्हाऊनी आली आसावी सकाळ सखये/
भुरभुरणा-या तव केसांची आठवण झाली/

माळून आली होतीस गजरा बकुळीचा तू/
मंतरलेल्या त्या श्वासांची आठवण झाली/

झाले भांडण बहुधा तेंव्हा पणतीचे तुळशीशी /
तुझ्या मखमली मंजुळ ध्वनीची आठवण झाली/

समोर तू येताना मी गलबलूनी गेलो /
विसरून गेल्या त्या पत्राची आठवण झाली/

तू काही अन मी काहीतरी बॊलत होतो/
नेमकेच राहून गेल्याची आठवण झाली/

कधी तुझा देह चंदनाचा, कधी तुझे ओठ केसराचे /
दिसुन जातात संधीकाळी कसे कसे रंग अंबराचे //


प्रवाळ प्रत्येक सोसण्याचा जपून मी ठेवला तळाशी /
उगीच का हे तयार झाले उरात बेट अत्तराचे //


तुझ्यानी माझ्या चुकामुकीचे कशास अ़क्षांश  शोधतो मी /
कधीतरी छेद जायचे का समांतराला समांतराचे ///

just some days ago  i was looking for some new gazals and i got it.
in the first appearance it seems quite obscure and hard to crack but its really delicious after uncovering .
the last line which is known as 'makta' in  urdu, is touchy.the gneral rule of mathematics has been applied by poet with  utter dexterity.
im now convinced that Chittaranjan Bhatt who is son of Late gazal nawaz Suresh Bhatt will really ascend the thrown of Gazal.  good.....

Raksha Bandhan --------- Sanskrit day

On This Rakshabandhan ,Sanskrit Day was observed throughout Maharashtra as usual.i remember on this occasion i used to deliver lecture during my graduation days on the specialities of Sanskrit Language and its wonder.Now i think we have to be more  conscious about this Language.One of My Friend Shreedhar Kamble has given me the Autobiography Of Dr.Ambedkar compiled by Shankarrao Kharat. This is One of the Most influential Book i ever read. In this book Dr.Ambedkar observed and said  i Quote   ...............

"Sanskrit is very good language and I am proud of it.By  little  practice i m now able to read and write it.i Want to learn it.."

Whatever is the reason this language has passed its golden days.Some scholars assert that it is a dead language.
i am totally convinced that its wrong.As last year's Dnyanpeeth Award which is supposed to be very precious in literature has confered upon Dr.Satyvrat Shastri for his magnificient poetry in sanskrit..
This itself is living truth that sanskrit is not dead language.
Here are some Practical Suggesstions to rejuvenate the state of Sanskrit Language.

1)We have to think sanskrit as language only not a religious entity,because in sanskrit we find Shankaracharya as well as Charvaka  also,certain amount of Buddhist writing is also in Sanskrit.How Language can be relilgious ..

2)we should delve deep in to the ocean of Sanskrit as it not only contain Vedas,Upanishadas,Geeta but it has scientific scriptures also.For Example Shulbasutras of Bodhayana tells about Pythagoras Theorem which is told by him before 2000 years before Pythagorus.

3)This language can excel and improve our pronounciation ,memory and freshness.

4)We  need a lobby of Scientists to Study Sanskrit Text to uncover the hidden wisdom of its science as hundreds of books and manuscripts are in thr dire needy condition .

5)We need joint institutes of sanskrit and science like IIT Pawai Where Dr.Malhar Kulkarni ,a noted grammarian of Sanskrit works for this purpose.

6)Be out of the prejudice that it is the language of Brahmins..Thr reality is that not mich Brahmins know it .

7)Sanskrit Bharati is the organization which works for welfare of sanskrit ,so we can prescribe for their Monthly magazine Sambhashan Sandesh,...
Let us  be cheerful  and look for positive points to tevive Sanskrit.

ON MY 23RD BIRTH DAY .

Its really fecticious to know that ,great english poet John Milton had written above wonderful poem on his 23rd Birthday and i have gone through it while i was preparing for set exam.
The exam was excellent one  and i have attempted the full paper.

लिटररी त्या टर्म्स त्याने पाठ केल्या /
पण अब्राहम अन उडाला वाटतो //१//

बिगिनिंग थिअरि पाठ झाल्याचे कळाले/
पिटर बारि गुप्त झाला वाटतो //२//

पाठ केल्या सर्व संद्न्या घोकूनी /
घोकलेल्या ओकताना लाजतो /३//

कितीही लिहिली लक्ष देवून प्रश्नपत्रे /

Namaste .here im again with a new gazal which mainly concerns to those students who are preparing for SET  exam which is schedduled on 8 th August.
here are some references which may only understood by limited number of students.it is a lampoon on the tragic condition and miserable situation of hundreds of students ,consistantly studying (rather pretending) in Jaykar Liabrary which is famous abode for literary pilgrims.
im also the part of them and written it neutrally by just observing the facts.All characters and situations discribed in present poem are fictitious.Resemlence with anyone is merely a co-incidence.

Da vinci code.

last week i have read Dan Brown's bestseller "Da Vinci Code".As i was so engrossed in the reading that it gave me the pure joy of reading.i was not that much curious before.Being a student of English literature and after insistence of Dr. Shirish Chindhade, i had studied some of Bible,which gave me added interest in reading the book. the foundation on which the whole christianity is based seems to be wrong and fabricated.
How the golden history of women in large had been suppressed and the dominance of Mary Magdalene among the disciples of Jesus had been conveniently surpassed by male apostles,was the main concern.
i wonder why the Feminist Critics have not accounted about this crucial issue of Holy Grail.How history can be so silent on those issues under the overwhelming dominance of Church.
As Nepolian said and quoted by Dan Brown in the book as " history is the convenient account or prefabricated fairy tales shaped by dominant classes or ruling classes"
The New Testament which we take as pure and serene is the biggest lie.Jesus was undoubtedly great man but on the name of him Church had overpowered the Continent.

its really fruitful adventure to read Da Vinci Code.just i have seen the Movie on the same.
